Job Title: College Librarian

The College Librarian has overall responsibility for library, research and information needs of the college community. He/she provides leadership in advancing the College’s teaching and mission through a clear vision of the library’s role, comprehensive strategic planning and incorporation of emerging technology.

The College Librarian’s shall:

  • Serve as the professional and administrative head of the College Library;
  • Draw up and monitor the implementation of College Library strategic plan;
  • Establish and maintain procedures, policies and systems that made efficient library operation;
  • Plan, organise, coordinate and measure the work activities of all library personnel;
  • Collaborate with the relevant and appropriate institutional libraries and organizations within and outside the country to attract grants for library development and be exposed to international best practices; and
  • Be a member of the Academic Board

Qualifications

The applicant must:

  • Possess a postgraduate degree in Library or Information related held;
  • Have served as Deputy Librarian in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least four (4) years;
  • Be conversant with library records management software;
  • Be analytical, critical, informative and research-oriented;
  • have a good character, leadership skills, and high degree of professional integrity; and
  • Be able to complete at least one term of four (4) years before attaining a compulsory retirement age of sixty (60)

Job Title: Internal Auditor

The Internal Auditor is the head of the College’s internal audit unit and provides independent, objective and consulting services designed to add value and improve the College’s operations. He/she also provides a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve risk management, control and governance processes of the College.

The Internal Auditor shall:

  • Ensure the establishment and operation of an efficient and effective internal financial control system;
  • Vet all proposed expenditures to ensure compliance with laid-down internal control systems and other statutory requirements;
  • Assess the extent to which assets are accounted for and safeguard losses;
  • Monitor and ensure that expenditures incurred have been authorised and are within budgetary provisions;
  • Liaise with the external auditors to ensure that appropriate actions are taken on reported audit findings;
  • Draw the attention of the Principal and the Finance Officer to deficiencies in the system with recommendations for remedies; and
  • Discharge any other assignments that the Principal shall deem necessary.

Qualifications

  • Hold a good first degree and a master’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • Have a professional qualification in the relevant fields and be a member of a relevant professional body as well as a member of the institute of Internal Auditors;
  • Have served as a Deputy Internal Auditor in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least four (4) years;
  • Have strong intellect, be analytical, critical, result-oriented, innovative and visionary;
  • Have proven emotional stability and integrity;
  • Possess strong I.T. skills and familiar with financial management framework;
  • Exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organisational skills;
  • Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines;and
  • Be able to complete at least one term of four (4) years before attaining the compulsory retirement of sixty (60) years.

Job Title: Finance Officer

The Finance Officer is the Chief Accounting Officer and the Chief Financial Advisor to the Principal. He/ she shall be responsible to the Principal for the financial administration of the College, The duties of the Finance Officer include but are not limited to:

  • The collection of all legitimate revenue due the College;
  • Sourcing funds for the College;
  • The implementation of policies relating to accounting and financial control and health of the College;
  • The proper record keeping of all College property, assets, stocks and valuables of all funds in a register;
  • Exercising control over expenditure in line with the College’s objectives and budgets;
  • Preparation of annual budget of the College for presentation to the appropriate governing body for approval and implementation;
  • Ensuring that the financial statements of the College are drawn up in accordance with the law establishing the Colleges, the statutes, applicable accounting standards and all other regulations approved by the College, as well as all other relevant national laws;
  • Liaising with the appointed external auditors to get the College’s financial statements audited; and
  • Liaising with the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in respect of financial matters affecting the College.

Qualifications

The applicant must:

  • Hold a good first degree and a master’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • Have a professional qualification in the relevant field and must be a member of a relevant professional body;
  • Have served as a Deputy Finance Officer in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least four (4) years;
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills;
  • Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines;
  • Have strong intellect, be analytical, innovative, result oriented and visionary;
  • Have proven emotional stability and integrity;
  • Possess strong LT. skills and be familiar with accounting software; and
  • Be able to complete at least one term of four (4) years before attaining the compulsory retirement of sixty (60) years.

Job Title: College Secretary

Responsibilities

  • Assist thePrincipal in the day-to-day administration and management of the College;
  • Be in-charge of all administration, secretarial and personnel matters of the College;
  • Be the secretary to the College Council, all committee of Council as well as statutory committees of the College;
  • Ensure the functioning of all Boards and standing committees of the College and be responsible for the co-ordination of the College’s strategic planning, policy formulation and implementation; and
  • Perform any other official function as may be assigned by the Governing Council or delegated by the Principal.

Qualifications

The applicant must:

  • Hold a good first degree and a minimum of master’s degree, preferably in Administration and Management related field;
  • Have served as a Deputy College Secretary in a College of Education or Senior Assistant Registrar in a tertiary institution or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least four (4) years;
  • Be capable of planning, organizing, implementing, and administratively managing all activities related to the office of the College Secretary;
  • Have proven emotional stability and integrity;
  • Have considerable knowledge, experience and understanding of the tertiary education structures and environment in general;
  • Should be able to develop implementation strategies
    to achieve the mission and vision of the College;
  • Be capable of working effectively under pressure to meet deadlines;
  • Have strong intellect and proven emotional stability and integrity;
  • Be a computer literate; and
  • Be able to complete at least one term of four (4) years before attaining the compulsory retirement age of sixty (60) years.
