Job Title: Centre Assistant
Essential Role/Function:
- To be responsible for the opening and closing of the facility on a daily basis
- To receive clients and visitors through the door, and serve as the first point of information for clients and potential clients
- To contribute to the performance of the centre, ensuring a clean, efficient, effective and professional service to clients, partners and stakeholders.
- To follow the processes, policies and procedures within the centre to support delivery of excellent service to clients
- To design and promote activities to meet client demand and generate revenue
- To maintain high levels of customer care, often with a particular focus on avoiding loss of existing users
- To manage schedules of maintenance, repairs and cleaning
- To carry out health and safety checks on site on a daily basis and resolve or escalate any issues
- To handle complaints and incidents, e.g. near misses, accidents, emergencies or theft
- To ensure own and staff members’ training is up to date
- To cash up and keep membership records
- To use advanced management information, such as footfall and popularity of services by hour, to improve provision and timetables and cope with fluctuations in demand
- To write monthly or weekly reports for centre owners or more senior management.
- To provide a high quality phone, face to face and email service to customers, partners and stakeholders.
- To book and manage appointments, centre use times and sessions for clients and other staff members
- To undertake other administration duties and responsibilities on a short or long term basis as required
- To work in a team providing centre cover for team members as directed.
- To contribute to ensure that customer service delivery is continually improved in ways that meet the needs of the company as well as partners/stakeholders.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education and Knowledge:
The successful applicant must have:
- Diploma or higher in office administration, secretaryship or equivalent
- At least 3 years’ experience working in an administrative or related role
- Knowledge of general administrative practices and procedures
- Knowledge office procedures / protocols
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)
Abilities and Skills:
- Ability to learn and work with new software and packages
- Ability to speak, write and communicate in English fluently and effectively
- Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner
- Ability to meet the physical challenges of the role, including bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, lifting, standing
- Ability to meet the health clearance requirements of the role
- Report writing and presentation skills
- Good organisational ability and attention to detail.
- Have a flexible approach.
- Ability to work on own initiative, solve problems and work as part of a team.
- Can work under pressure.
- An understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity for all.
- Able to do other work within the centre as may be required
- Ability to initiate and maintain clear, concise documentation

Remuneration:

Job Title: Junior Physical Therapist/ Physiotherapy Assistant
Essential Role/Function:
- May assist the physical therapist/physiotherapist or other licensed professional in evaluations of the level of functioning of the client and the development of adequate management programs
- Assists the clients in developing self-management routines as required, needed or requested
- Prepares progress notes on management program and client improvement as required
- Administers the plan of management as designed by the physical therapist/physiotherapist
- Advises the client on management program, general conditioning and maintaining health
- Observes, records, and reports any changes in the patient’s condition or ability to execute management programme.
- Educates the client in the use of centre equipment and execution of management programs.
- Ensures that all centre machines and equipment are managed, running and operating well, and recording, logging and following up any repair or maintenance requirements.
- Administers pain management therapy as required and is cleared for
- Assists with the rehabilitation of patients according to the plan of care.
- Participates in case conferences and in-services.
- Undertakes administration duties as required
- Communicates effectively with all providing care.
- Ensures quality care
- Responsible for the wellbeing of clients who attend the centre
- Serves as the main point of professional contact for clients accessing the centre on a daily basis
- To carry out Health and Safety checks on machines, equipment and site on a daily basis
- To assist the Centre Assistant in handling complaints
Person Specification
Education:
The successful applicant must have:
- At least 2 years post qualification experience as a physical therapist/physiotherapist within the last 3 years, or at least 3 years post qualification experience as a physiotherapy assistant, with at least 1 year spent working with the elderly (over 60 years).
- Experience may be either paid or unpaid, but must have entailed at least 1500 hours of hands-on, active engagement with patients/individuals, with at least half of those hours being with the elderly.
- Certificate in Physiotherapy/Certificate as a Physiotherapy Assistant from a recognized Institution
- Registration with the Allied Health Professional Council
Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients who visit the centre
- Ability to work with other team and or staff members as required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and data protection requirements and principles
- Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner
- Ability to meet the physical challenges of the role, including bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, lifting, standing
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role
- Able to do other work within the centre as may be required
- Ability to relate to especially and work harmoniously with elderly clients
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a calm controlled manner
