BECE Registration Examination Date for 2021 Announced

The Ghaha Education Service has announced a two-month duration for the registration of candidates for the 2021 edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School candidates.

The GES in a letter dated March 12, 2021, to all regional education directors indicated, that the registration of BECE 2021 for school candidates will commence from 15th March to 14th May 2021.

Planned Briefing

The GES said the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) was unable t organize it’s planned briefing of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Examination Officers as well as IT Personnel due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation.

”In view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) could not organize its planned briefing of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Examination Officers as well as IT Personnel.” The GES said.

Way forward

The GES however indicated, that in order to ensure that the officials are adequately equipped to handle the registration process effectively and efficiently, the WAEC has prepared the enclosed material( audio/visual notes on BECE for School candidates, 2021 registration) and the Timelines of Key activities to facilitate the registration process.

  2. Is the BECE really coming on this year because this corona has affected the final year students. They have been home for very long and by now most of them have forgotten so I suggest they use a new system in grading the students. Perhaps we don’t know if June students will go to school its dangerous to ease the restrictions. I hope they use continues assessment, entrance exams and mock results. The BECE is based in Ghana so they can cancel it for only this year’s candidates, most of them have stayed home for long and I think when they sit to write this paper they would fail. So let’s think about them so they go to the next level with their mock results that would help very much for the candidates. Most of them might even get infected by the disease and are in the hospital.
