Job Title: Agronomist
Details
Our Agronomist is a key position that will provide technical support to the AMG commercial business to promote fertilizer and other agricultural input sales at the company.

Start Date: July 1, 2020
AMG is looking for a knowledgeable, thorough Agronomist who can develop better farming practices and find effective solutions for the food and farming industry.
The Agronomist will conduct research and field checks, take samples and make observations, perform tests, and identify and solve problems related to plant or soil nutrition, damage from insects or wildlife, weather or climate changes, or the use of specialized products. Using this information, you will also help farmers develop techniques to increase crop quality and yield.
Your focus shall be on developing and promoting better farming practices. You should also be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical with excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills.
REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelors degree in Agronomy or General Agriculture or related field
- A minimum of three years of working experience in similar role and industries
- Ability to work outside, stand, walk, kneel, and stoop for extended periods
- Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office and diagnostic scientific software
- Exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills
- Strong research, decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Awareness of industry trends, technology, and developments
- Sales and presentation skills are also a major plus
- You should also be a good driver, with a valid driving license
Job Title: M&E Officer
Requirements
- Experience in monitoring & evaluation, Data analysis, reporting, design & implementation of project.
- Experience in pro-smallholder market development programmes.
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative survey tools and design.
- Experience in database design and management use of tables for data collection
- At least first degree in Agricultural economics, M&E, Development studies and in relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a relevant competency area, including agriculture, statistics, international development.
- Experience in similar assignments or working for donor funded project(s) is highly desirable;
- Ability to write concise and clear reports;
- Strong communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, willingness to innovate and ability to think systematically;
- Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate with wide range of stakeholders both verbally and in writing;
- Proven experience in managing multiple and competing tasks while maintaining quality
- Advanced oral and written communication skills in English and a local language (Ga, Twi, Ewe,Hausa) may be desirable.
- Proficient in statistical packages and basic knowledge in mapping software of deliverables within deadlines;

- Ability to work in a team, and maintain effective work relationships with counterparts at national, regional and headquarter level.
- High flexibility to travel frequently in the project regions.
- Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with people of different national and cultural background.
