Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates for Advance Information Technology Institute- Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence (AITI-KACE) Recruitment 2020.

 

The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT is Ghana’s first Advanced Information Technology Institute. It was established in 2003, through a partnership between the Government of Ghana and the Government of India. The centre also houses West Africa’s first supercomputer.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

Contents

Job Title: Programme Analyst / Lecturer

Duties

• Performs duties of a Programmer Analyst in a hybrid software development environment
• Works with senior programmer analysts, business analyst and business development manager to develop solutions for end users/clients
• Develop and modify technical documentation to support applications maintenance, operations and end-user training
• Collaborate with them members to complete assignments
• Maintain status of work assignments to report progress using supported project management tools
• Works with systems to troubleshoot and automate processes
• Testing programs to ensure compliance with specifications
• Troubleshoot problems and failures and work to resolve issues
• Shall be assigned to lecture courses and mentor students
• Shall be assigned to coordinate at least one course/programme
• Undertake student assessment after completion of training modules/programmes
• Assist in curriculum and content development

Qualifications

• Full Stack developer in 2 key technologies such as PHP, Python, Java EE, etc
• Proficient in the following Operation Systems: Unix, Linux, Microsoft Windows
• Proficient in the following database technologies, MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL
• Good working knowledge of HTNL5, CSS, React, Angular, Vue, etc
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIt, Gogs or SVN
• Familiarity with Data Visualisation and Big Data tools
• Creating collaboration and teamwork skills
• Analytical skills: be able to analysis complex instructions to create computer code
• Proven ability to develop applications in multiple programming environments
• Good technical writing skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize is a must

In addition, prospective candidate Must have the ability to lecture in at least one of the following areas:

a) Web Application Development: HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Python, Django, PHP, Laravet, Node.js. React, JQuery, Angular, ES6 and ES6
b) Enterprise Programming: Core Java, Java EE, Java Server Pages(JSP), Maven, Hibernate Spring framework, Java Database Connectivity (JDBC)
c) Big Data: R Programming, Python for Data Science, Apache Spark and Big Data Technologies

Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 4 years experience as a programmer. A post-graduate degree in computer science with a 2 years experience as a programmer

Job Title: Senior Programmer Analyst / Senior Lecturer

Duties

• Creates and maintains computer programs, program documentation and operating instructions, performs leadership responsibilities in the development of reusable programming solutions
• Lead the solution design process and frequently assumes responsibility for project maintenance, major modifications or development of systems
• Intermediate to senior-level experience in an apps development role
• Demonstrated strong execution capabilities
• Participate hands-on during all phases of projects (design, coding and testing)
• Provide technical leadership and oversight (e.g. data modelling and code walkthrough) to ongoing and new development work.
• Assist in managing technical dependencies/impacts with other groups
• Shall be assigned to lecture courses and mentor students
• Shall be assigned to coordinate at least one course/programme
• Undertake student assessment after completion of training modules/programmes
• Assist in curriculum and content development

Qualifications

• Full Stack developer in 3 key technologies such as PHP, Phython, Java EE, etc
• Good working knowledge of APIs, micro-service, Business Process Management systems,
• Advanced knowledge in the following database technologies: MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL is required
• Proficient in the following Operation systems: Unix, Linux, Microsoft Windows
• Good working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, React, Angular, Vue, etc
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIt, Gogs or SVN

Job Title: Business Development Manager

Duties

• Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business
• Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining and leveraging on business networks
• Identify potential clients and the decision-makers within the client organisation
• Research and build relationships with new clients
• Set up meetings between client decision-makers and the management of the centre
• Work with team to develop proposals, TOR and MOU’s that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
• Quoting and negotiating prices and credit terms and completing contracts and recording orders

Client Retention

• Present new products and services to clients and enhance existing relationships
• Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet client needs
• Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs
• Assess customers needs and explain the goods and services which meet their needs

Business Development Planning

• Develop business growth strategy focusing both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
• Identify opportunities for campaigns, services and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
• Update and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products and distribution channels
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations and sales displays
• Participate in industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends
• Update staff on competitor’s goods and services and market conditions
• Identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators based on the knowledge of the market and competitors
• Arrange for the delivery of goods, installation of equipment and the provision of services to clients

Management and Research

• Undertake research on competitors goods and services and market conditions
• Submit weekly progress reports on sales, clients, market trends, etc
• Develop and maintain appropriate KPI’s to enhance service delivery
• Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the business development team
• Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisite (like prequalification or getting on a vendor list) and fulfilled within a timely manner
• Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff

Qualifications

• At least a First Degree in Business Administration, public administration, sociology, Human Resource, ICT, Project Management etc
• At least 5 years work experience in business development, trade promotions, or other relevant areas

Key Skills required include:

• In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events
