WAEC Sends Goodwill Message to 2020 WASSCE Candidates

The Head of National Office, WAEC, Mrs. Wendy E. Addy-Lamptey is wishing all final year students success in the ongoing WASSCE. She has therefore called on candidates, supervisors and invigilators to abide by the rules and regulations governing the conduct of the examination. She also urges candidates not to fall victim to the activities of rogue website operators.

Below is the goodwill message from the Head of National Office.

I heartily wish all final year students writing the WASSCE the best of success in your examinations. I will encourage you to abide by the rules and regulations of the examination and avoid any form of examination malpractice. Do not take any foreign materials especially mobile phones into the examination hall, I also wish to advise you to do independent work and refrain from seeking any form of assistance from either candidates or non-candidates. Do not be led astray by the rogue websites and WhatsApp platforms with all kinds of fake information.  Be focussed and continue with the preparation and writing of your papers.

As you are aware, we are in what has been dubbed “new normal times” and the challenges facing you are unique. Hence preparation is key I urge you all to comply with the COVID-19 protocols of washing your hands regularly, wearing nose masks and maintaining physical distance so that we can all keep safe during this period.

WAEC has put in place all measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination. Remember, you can pass your examinations without cheating.

To our Supervisors and Invigilators, I appeal to you to be guided by the rules for the conduct of the examination as well as the COVID-19 policy guidelines. Also, be reminded that mobile phones are not allowed at the examination centres.

We invite the Ghana Education Service, Heads of School, Supervisors, Invigilators, Police and Security Agents, Media and all other stakeholders to play their roles to promote the ethics and integrity of the examination.

Let me take this opportunity to encourage parents to stay calm.

God be with us all.

Thank you.
