The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) weekend undergraduate admission form for the 2024/2025 academic year is out.

The general public and prospective applicants are informed that applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into weekend Top-up Undergraduate programmes and 8-Semester weekend undergraduate programmes of the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani.

SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING

Weekend Top-Up Programmes:

BSc. Mechanical Engineering

Admission Requirements:

  • Applicants who possess Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering (5 Semesters).
  • Holders of Part I, II & III Certificate or City & Guilds Certificate in the following areas of Mechanical Engineering; Production Engineering, Plant Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration (6 semesters).

BSc. Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Admission Requirements:

  • Applicants who possess HND in Electrical and Electronics, Telecommunication, Computer engineering or any other relevant field (5 semesters).
    Applicants who possess diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with distinction, Electrical Engineering Technician Part III (EETIII) or equivalent, City and Guilds level 3 (6 semesters).

8-Semester Weekend Programme:

BSc. Mechanical Engineering

Admission Requirements:

i. SSSCE holders with passes (A-D) in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus passes (A-D) in three (3) elective subjects relevant to the programme of study.

ii. WASSCE holders with passes (A1-C6) in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, plus passes (A1-C6) in three (3) elective subjects relevant to the programme of study.

iii. GBCE Candidates: Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

iv. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Candidates: Passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better). Also, the applicant must have had passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subject (for Science students).

v. Mature Entrance Applicants: Be at least 25 years old, and show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is at least 5 years old at the time of application; pass Mature Students’ Entrance Examinations conducted by the institution (English Language, Mathematics and an Aptitude Test); possess any of the following: SSSCE/WASSCE, Teacher’s Cert. ‘A’, NVTI/NABPTEX Certificates.

SCHOOL OF SCIENCES

Weekend Top-Up Programmes:

  • BSc. Computer Science/ BSc. Information Technology
  • BSc. Mathematics
  • BSc. Statistics
  • BSc. Actuarial Science

Admission Requirements:

  • Applicants who possess a diploma with distinction or National Higher Diploma (HND) with at least 2nd Class Lower (4 Semesters).
  • Applicants who possess a diploma with a pass or HND with Third Class or Pass (6 Semesters).

8-Semester Weekend Programmes:

  • BSc. Information Technology
  • BSc. Mathematics
  • BSc. Statistics
  • BSc. Actuarial Science

Admission Requirements:

SSSCE holders with passes (A-D) in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus passes (A-D) in elective Mathematics and two (2) other elective subjects.

WASSCE holders with passes (A1-C6) in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus passes (A1-C6) in elective Mathematics and two other elective subjects.

GBCE Candidates: Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

  • Admission Requirements:

• SSSCE holders with passes (A-E) in all subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus 3 passes (A-E) in Three Elective subjects relevant to the programme of study.

• WASSCE holders with passes (A1-D7) in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus passes (A1-D7) in three elective subjects relevant to the programme of study.

SCHOOL OF NATURAL RESOURCES

Weekend Top-Up Programmes:

  • BSc. Natural Resources Management

Admission Requirements:

  • Applicants who possess a diploma with distinction or National Higher Diploma (HND) with at least 2nd Class Lower in the relevant field (4 Semesters).
  • Applicants who possess a diploma with a pass or HND with Third Class or Pass in the relevant field (6 Semesters).

BSc. Fire and Disaster Management

Admission Requirements:

  • Applicants who possess a diploma with distinction or National Higher Diploma (HND) with at least 2nd Class Lower in the relevant field (4 Semesters).
    Applicants who possess a diploma with a pass or HND with Third Class or Pass in the relevant field (6 Semesters).

BSc. Hospitality Management

Admission Requirements:

  • Applicants who possess a diploma with distinction or National Higher Diploma (HND) with at least 2nd Class Lower in the relevant field (4 Semesters).
  • Applicants who possess a diploma with a pass or HND with Third Class or Pass in the relevant field (6 Semesters).

BSc. Resource Enterprise and Entrepreneurship

Admission Requirements:

  • Applicants who possess a diploma with distinction or National Higher Diploma (HND) with at least 2nd Class Lower (4 Semesters).
  • Applicants who possess a diploma with a pass or HND with Third Class or Pass (6 Semesters).

8-Semester Weekend Programme:

BSc. Resource Enterprise and Entrepreneurship

  • BSc. Agribusiness

Admission Requirements:

• Applicants who possess a diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent qualification in any of the following or any other relevant field: Forestry/Forest Science, Agroforestry, Agriculture Extension, Animal Production, Crop Production, Horticulture and Agribusiness (4 Semesters).

• Applicants who possess a certificate in Agriculture or any other relevant field from accredited agriculture colleges (6 Semesters).

8-Semester Weekend Programmes:

  • BSc. Agriculture
  • BSc. Agribusiness

Admission Requirements:

• SSSCE holders with passes (A-D) in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus passes (A-D) in three (3) elective subjects.

• WASSCE holders with passes (A1-C6) in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus passes (A1-C6) in three (3) elective subjects.

• GBCE Candidates: Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

All applicants are required to complete the online application at https://admissions.uenr.edu.gh/ using the Voucher Number and PIN.

Submission of Completed Application Forms

Applicants must post completed online application forms together with certified copies of birth certificates, diplomas and transcripts (Not Returnable) to: The Academic and Students’ Affairs Division, University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani until November 30, 2023.
