How to Submit Assignments in Google Classroom
To submit your assignment, you need to first of all login into Google Classroom on your device. Thereafter, you will need to navigate to the “Classwork” section where you can turn in your assignment.
Interestingly with Google Classroom, you can submit and unsubmit your assignment if you need to make changes or leave a private comment for your teacher about the status of your work. Having said that, below is a guide on how to submit an assignment on Google Classroom.

How to Submit an Assignment in Google Classroom on a Desktop
To submit an assignment in Google Classroom on your Desktop, follow the procedures outlined below.
- Go to classroom.google.com.
- Click the class and then select “Classwork”.
- Click the assignment and then select “View assignment”.
- To attach an item:
- Under Your work, click Add or create, then select Google Drive, Link, or File.
- Select the attachment or enter the URL for a link and click Add.
- To attach a new document:
- Under Your work, click Add or create Docs, Slides, Sheets, or Drawings.
A new file attaches to your work and opens. - Click the file and enter your information.
- Under Your work, click Add or create Docs, Slides, Sheets, or Drawings.
- (Optional) To remove an attachment, next to the attachment’s name, click Remove.
- (Optional) To add a private comment to your teacher, under Private comments, enter your comment and click Post.
- Click Turn In and confirm.
- The status of the assignment changes to Turned in.
Important: If you get an error message when you click Turn in, let your instructor know.
How to Unsubmit an Assignment on a Desktop
Want to make changes to an assignment that you already turned in? Just unsubmit the work, make the changes, and turn it in again.
Important:Â Any assignment turned in or marked done after the due date is marked late, even if you previously submitted the work before the due date. If you unsubmit an assignment, be sure to resubmit it before the due date.
- Go to classroom.google.com.
- Click the class and then select Classwork.
- Click the assignment and then select View assignment.
- Click Unsubmit and confirm.
Note: This assignment is now unsubmitted. Turn it in again before the due date.

To submit an assignment in Google Classroom on your iPhone or iPad, follow the procedures outlined below.
- Open the Google Classroom app on your device.
- Tap the class, then select “Classwork” the assignment.
- On the Your work card, tap Expand.
- To attach an item:
- Tap Add attachment.
- Tap Drive, Link, File, Pick photo, or Use camera.
- Select the attachment or enter the URL and tap Add.
- To attach a new doc:
- Tap Add attachment.
- Tap New Docs, New Slides, New Sheets, or New PDF.
- For a new document, presentation, or spreadsheet, enter your information and tap Done.
- A new PDF opens as a blank file where you can write notes or draw images on it. When you’re done, tap Save.
Note:Â You can attach or create more than one file.
- (Optional) Scan a file
- Open the Google Drive app.
- At the bottom right, tap Add.
- Tap Scan.
- Take a photo of the document you’d like to scan.
- Adjust scan area: Tap Crop.
- Take a photo again: Tap Re-scan the current page.
- Scan another page: Tap Add.
- To save the finished document, tap Done.
- (Optional) To remove an attachment, tap Remove.
- (Optional) To add a private comment to your teacher, tap Add private comment, enter your comment, and tap Post.
- Tap Turn In and confirm.
- The assignment status changes to Turned in.
