Our Client, a Public Service Institution invites applications from highly qualified and results-oriented professionals for the following positions: Public Relations Manager

Job Summary

• The role holder is responsible for developing and executing strategies aimed at generating, packaging and disseminating information with the view to creating an understanding of, and garner support for the institution’s strategies and activities

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement appropriate PR campaigns and media relation strategies and policies in consultation with relevant stakeholders to promote the brand of the institution
• Provide technical support for defining and building the internal and external communications functions of all the relevant specified entities, helping to effectively communicate and reinforce strategy, cultural values, and pertinent updates
• Develop and review speeches related to the institution for correctness and accuracy to align with media relations best practices
• Manage media monitoring activities and research on publications/news affecting the institution and recommend or create content for internal and external distribution to mitigate negative perceptions
• Coordinate logistical arrangements to ensure the successful organisation of events such as diplomatic briefings, NGO meetings and other major conferences and ceremonies
• Establish a crisis communication strategy to ensure that information is communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders
• Publish newsletters and information programmes that aim to define the role of the institution, its activities and functions to provide information to the media, stakeholders and the general public
• Plan and establish opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising and manage the content of the institution’s social media channels, promotional material and publications
• Prepare and submit periodic reports related to the efficiency and competency of international co-operation with regional and international organisations and authorities related to the institution’s function
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Essential and Desirable Criteria

• A Master’s Degree in International Relations, Communications Studies or related field from a recognized university
• Professional qualification in Public Relations (APR, CPR, etc.)
• Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in the public and private sector or of which at least three (3) years is in a supervisory role.
