Ho Technical University, a public Tertiary Education Institution, located in the Volta-Regional capital, Ho, Ghana, invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the
following Teaching and Non-Teaching vacancies in the University:

JOB TITLE: UNIVERSITY LIBRARIAN

Job Description

The University Librarian is a Senior Management level position in the University. As the administrative head of the University Library, the University Librarian shall be of professional status and shall be responsible fto the Vice-Chancellor for the administration and coordination of all library services in the University. The Librarian shall:

• Be responsible for the provision of adequate, relevant and up-to-date reading and audio-visual materials to support effective teaching, research and community service functions of the University
• Ensure the maintenance of a congenial environment for reading and learning in all the libraries of the University
• Be responsible for maintaining linkages with local and international organistions involved in library work
• Liaise with the library committee and formulate policies for the maximum and onward approval by the academic board
• Be a member of the academic board and
• Perform any other functions assigned by the Vice-Chancellor of the University

Qualifications

• Possess a minimum of a postgraduate degree in librarianship/library science or information science. PhD in any of these would be an advantage
• Have served as a Deputy Librarian in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution or organisation for at least 6 years or
• Must have at least 15 years of experience in the field of librarianship in a tertiary institution, industry or any relevant public service organisation, 5 of which should be in a senior management position
• Provide evidence of research publications in the area of specialisation in peer-reviewed journals/publications
• Be analytical, critical, result-oriented, innovative and visionary
• Exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organisational skills
• Be eligible to hold office for 4 years before the compulsory retirement age of 60 years and
• Be computer literate and conversant with library software

Tenure of Office

Candidates must be able to hold office for a minimum of four (4 years on first appointment and may, on the application, be reappointed for a further term of up to 4 years only, provided that no part of the second term enters his/her www.htu.edu.gh retirement age

JOB TITLE: DEPUTY REGISTRAR (HUMAN RESOURCE)

Job Description

• Applicants in this category shall be required to show high administrative, professional and leadership qualities in University administration, with a proven track record in human resource practice in a large organisation

Qualifications

• Hold at least a Masters Degree in Administration and Management related areas, preferably in Human Resource Management
• Have served as Senior Assistant Registrar in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution or organisation for at least 6 years
• Have sound knowledge in contemporary human resource issues and strategic planning with respect to the human resource needs of an organisation
• Be conversant with the government laws and policies of a University, particularly the labour Act of the Republic of Ghana and
• Be computer literate
• Membership of professional body in the relevant area would be an added advantage
• Applicant must also submit a vision statement of not more than four (4) pages outlining how he/she would use the period of service if engaged to transform the Human Resource Office for effective service delivery towards fulfilling the vision and mission of the University.

JOB TITLE: DIRECTORATE OF INTERNAL AUDIT

Qualifications

• Applicants must be Chartered Accountant and hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in the relevant field
• Applicant for the position of Assistant Internal Auditor must, in addition to the relevant qualifications, have at least 2 years post-qualification experience as Junior Assistant Auditor or comparable grade in a similar institution or organization
• Applicants must be computer literate and be conversant with accounting/auditing software applications
