Job Details

We are looking to recruit a qualified teacher for the position of Psychology, Global Perspectives & Research, Humanities Teacher.

The ideal candidate for this position should hold an honors degree in Psychology from a recognized University. An additional qualification in education is desirable but not essential.

Prospective candidates should also be able to teach A- Level Global Perspectives & Research (GP&R) as well as any other additional subjects in the humanities or science faculties. GP&R is a multi-discipline subject that requires learners to research various topics, explore local and international perspectives to issues and produce typical academic essays on their research results.

Requirements

The prospective candidate for this position must have the following skills and experience:

  • A good honors degree in Psychology major; also desirable if you have Psychology combined with another subject.
  • A very strong background in research and academic writing, to be able to teach (GP&R).
  • Ability to teach another subject either in humanities or science.
  • A commitment to work with children in a child-centered school.
  • Some teaching experience in any learning environment for children and young adults will be desirable.
  • Some experience or knowledge of teaching the Cambridge Assessment International Education curriculum will be desirable.
  • A good communicator ready to be an excellent role model for children.
  • Very strong ICT skills; ability to use ICT as the central tool in the delivery of all lessons.
  • Strong knowledge in research methods and systems.
  • Ability to guide students away from producing plagiarized essays.
  • A strong indication of a desire to work with children in a school for the foreseeable future.
  • Ability to work in a proactive manner, able to make quick decisions and be willing to embark on continuous professional development.
  • Competent team player, able to work together with other members of the department and other members of the school community.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet all deadlines with regards to reports and Medium Term Plans.
  • A strong and positive work ethic and a responsible attitude to working with children.
