ACADEMIC CITY PROGRAMS: Engineering, Business, Information Technology, Communication Arts

To ensure that the College’s objectives with respect to admissions and quality of students admitted is met with. The Director of Strategy & Admissions will be single handedly responsible to create, drive, and implement a strategy-based student recruitment plan that serves the university’s short and long term revenue and growth targets. The Director will also specifically be responsible to lead marketing and sales initiatives to attract the best quality students, and to achieve admission targets set by the institution’s management and executive committee. She/he will be responsible for all communication outflow/inflow at the institution and monitor the same.

Core Responsibilities include:

Strategy & Leadership

  • Play an active role in the Executive Committee team of the institution to ensure the institution achieves continued success for students and meets the future needs of the local communities
  • Establish trust and credibility with staff across the College, and external stakeholders including the local business community
  • Attend corporation meetings and represent the College at external events, as required
  • Be line manager for the Marketing Managers, Sales Managers, admissions officers, and counselors

Admissions

  • Responsible for the institution’s annual target student growth and revenue projections being achieved through appropriate recruitment strategies
  • Set admission number targets for the institutions’ various programs and courses offered for every academic year, in alignment with the institutional revenue targets
  • Ensure that the institution’s key touch-points for parents and students, from awareness to signing-up and beyond, are based on the institution’s defined promises, values and mission
  • Ensure that marketing & sales touch points are properly designed, implemented & monitored
  • Address all students and parents queries posed through various online and offline touch-points
  • Ensure that admissions and recruitment events and activities (national and international) are planned for, and organized, as per the event calendar agreed upon
  • Review and update admission numbers to the executive committee and to the President, Academic City on a periodic basis. Present plan of action from time to time in accordance with the institutional plans
  • Ensure that every student admitted to the programmes at the institution meet the academic criteria established by the respective committees and bodies at the institution, and in accordance with the regulations of the National Accreditation Board, Ghana

Marketing, PR & Brand Building

  • Prepare Marketing budgets for the institution in consultation with the Marketing managers and other subordinate managers reporting to the Director of Strategy & Admissions
  • Ensure that Marketing plans are in alignment with the institutional brand building objectives, i.e., to position the institution as a leading technology and engineering education institution in Africa
  • Review and approve the Marketing plans, marketing collateral, digital assets of the institution and ensure that internal teams and/or vendors are aligned with the plans and execute according to the plan
  • Oversee the preparation of the PR plan for the institution and engage with necessary PR agencies and vendors to achieve PR communication objectives of the institution
  • Manage all outreach programs and measure the effectiveness of every marketing initiative of the institution
  • Ensure that all communication channels including, but not limited to, the website, brochures, collateral, social media channels accurately represent the institution’s values and mission
  • Track and monitor the implementation of the marketing plan for the institution and ensure that respective team members are accountable for the implementation of the same
  • Review and approve digital marketing plans, and fine-tune the social media marketing spend for the institution to achieve targets with respect to inquiries generates and impressions generates on the website and other online properties of the institution

Stakeholder engagement

  • Engage with other stakeholders for the institution’s growth, including but not limited to, corporates, foundations, governmental agencies, NGOs etc. Prepare proposals to submit to these stakeholders in alignment with the institutional objectives for partnerships, tie-ups and joint initiatives
  • Identify potential partners in various areas, including but not limited to, academics, extra-curricular activities, joint-marketing and branding initiatives
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with partner schools and school principals in the region
