University of Ghana Fees Payment Procedures & Guidelines

The University of Ghana, UG Legon School Fees Payment Procedures, and guidelines for newly admitted students for the academic year has been released.

University of Ghana Fees Payment Procedures

This is to inform all newly admitted freshers of the University of Ghana (UG), Legon that the management of the institution has released the payment of fees procedures for the academic session.

All students (Main Campus/Accra City Campus/Distance Education/Korle-Bu) are to pay their Academic Fees and, where applicable, Residential Fees at any branch of Standard Chartered Bank or ECOBANK with cash only.  Ensure that you quote correctly your Student ID Number on all the pay-in-slips (using a Fee Paying Voucher). Ensure that the information captured by the teller is accurate before leaving the banking hall.

University of Ghana Fees Payment Procedures and Guidelines

Student fee payment is integral to the registration process. Students must, at least pay the minimum required, fees before they will be allowed to undertake the Academic and Residential registration.

A.     Students must take note of the following when making payments:

  1. Only pay fees at University of Ghana APPROVED BANKS (listed below).
  2. All deposits at the bank should be made with a FEE DEPOSIT SLIP.
  3. All deposits at the bank should be made with CASH ONLY.
  4. Always ensure the STUDENT INDEX NUMBER and NAMES are correctly quoted.
  5. Always ensure the AMOUNT quoted on the receipt is the correct amount paid.
  6. Ensure the account name is that of UNIVERSITY OF GHANA.
  7. Keep Payments by CHEQUE (NO PERSONAL CHEQUES) can be made at the University’s Cash Office ONLY.

B.     Student fees can be paid using any of the following mediums:

  1. At the bank
  2. Online using Visa card, Mastercard or Mobile Money (MTN and Vodafone) – https://sts.ug.edu.gh/ugpay
  3. Cheques (payable only at University of Ghana Cash Office)

STUDENTS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO PAY THE FOLLOWING:

  • APPROXIMATELY GH¢ 50.00 FOR JCR DUES/HALL SOUVENIRS
  • APPROXIMATELY GH¢ 20.00 AS REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT AGAINST DAMAGES IN THE HALL
  • GH¢ 15.00  FOR THE HIRING OF ACADEMIC GOWNS FOR MATRICULATION

  1. Please I have made e payment of GHC2000.00 using my debit card. I was given the option to print my receipt but a printer was not available. It has been three days now but it has not reflected on my account. How can I retrieve my receipt? How long will it take before it reflects?
